The Art of Caring

The Sleep of Reason Brings Forth Numbers

The Art of Caring at St George's Hospital in Tooting, London, features over 250 artworks and wool words on the subject of Care and Caring. The exhibition, now in its 5th year, helps celebrate International Nurses Day on the 12th May. This year’s theme is ‘Health for All’. It includes the work of creative people of all ages, from artists to nurses, and from people who have experience of being a carer and/or a service user.
This is the fourth consecutive year that I have entered and this year's piece, 'The 'Sleep of Reason Brings Forth Numbers' is my comment on hyper-rationality.

We are inseparable from our environment

The annual Art of Caring Exhibition is held consecutively on two sites, starting at St George's and then moving to St Pancras Hospital.

9 Days in January

I find the postcard format for the exhibition at St George's Hospital exhibition liberating.
The piece '9 Days in January' was part of the Art of Caring 2017 and I was trying to capture something of my experience of being in hospital both as a patient and a visitor.
